The Design

The XR500 comes with an out-of-world design as when you look at it for the first time, you would certainly think of it as an alien spaceship rather than a router. The flat design, the antennae’s and the pointed nose almost look similar to one of the combat robots you’ve seen in the Battlebots series. The router comes with LED lights on the front of the nose section and when it is on, it adds fuel to the suspicion of an alien ship. Maybe the concept behind the design was to showcase the out-of-the-world experience a player may gain with the router. The design also includes a wall-mount option, so you can easily mount it on the wall if you don’t have enough space on your desk.

The router comes with 4 dual-and antennas and needs to be connected to the specified spots as labeled or else you may face connectivity problems. There are also 3 USB3.0 ports present on the side of the router.   And in the backside, there are 1 WAN ports, 4 LAN ports along with a DC port, power button and a reset button. There is also a switch to turn on/off the lights found in the front side and switch to turn the Wi-Fi on/off and WPS button that enables other new devices to connect. Overall, the XR500 comes with a unique design that you never would have imagined that a router would this kind of an alien ship design. But it sure does makes it totally different and kindles the playing spirit in you.
