Ubisoft Toronto Celebrates 15 Years with Open Studio Event

Experience Game Development Firsthand

Have you ever been curious about how video games are created? Ubisoft Toronto is giving you a chance to find out. To mark its 15th anniversary, the studio is hosting a special event as part of Doors Open Toronto. This annual festival allows people to explore important cultural sites in the city for free.

Discover Popular Game Titles

Ubisoft Toronto has developed well-known games like Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Watch Dogs Legion, and Far Cry 6. The studio also contributed significantly to Star Wars Outlaws. On May 24 and 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors can tour the studio and learn about these popular franchises, including Assassin's Creed.

Explore the Studio Space

Guests will have access to the 12,000 sq. ft. studio located at 224 Wallace Avenue. One highlight of the tour is the large performance capture facility used for many major titles produced by Ubisoft. This facility works alongside its Montreal counterpart, handling much of the performance capture needed for global projects.

No Registration Needed

The best part? The event is completely free! There's no need for registration; just show up and join the line to explore at your own pace.

A Rare Opportunity in Gaming

The gaming industry often keeps its processes under wraps, making this open house a rare chance to see how some of Canada's most significant games come together. It also showcases Canada's growing influence in global gaming development.

Panel Discussion on May 24

In addition to opening its doors, Ubisoft Toronto will be involved with events at Mars Discovery District-North America's largest urban innovation hub. On May 24, Navid Khavari, who serves as narrative director for Star Wars Outlaws, will participate in a panel called “Ready Player One.” This discussion will focus on Toronto's gaming scene and feature other local developers like Brendan Lehman, Indigo Doyle, and Bracy Appekumoh.

Free Panel but Requires Registration

While attending this panel is also free, it does require prior registration.

This event offers an exciting opportunity not only for gamers but also anyone interested in learning more about game development from one of Canada's leading studios.
