This past weekend, Taichi Panda made a public appearance as the sponsor of UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro featuring the game’s celebrity spokeswoman Ronda Rousey. Coinciding with the event, Snail Games officially launched its latest promotional campaign for the game, including a TV spot featuring the still undefeated bantamweight mixed martial art champion herself.
Announced earlier this summer, Rousey has signed on with Snail Games as a celebrity spokeswoman for Snail’s action adventure RPG, Taichi Panda. Building on the momentum of Rousey’s endorsement, Snail joined the popular fighting icon at her much anticipated contest against Brazilian challenger Bethe Correia withTaichi Panda graphics featured prominently on the fighting arena floor. In a result both surprising and expected, Rousey defeated Correia in only 34 seconds by knockout, foregoing her signature armbar for a series of standing punch combos.
During the fight, Snail officially released the first full look at its new TV commercial video, featuring Rousey in training bouts with the titular Taichi Panda. Snail has announced it will be airing the spot across several networks, including Fox Sports, Disney XD, ESPN and more, as part of a promotional campaign for the title, which was released in March to positive reception.
