The trip gives the six teams a global stage for finding publishers, investors, and new players. Tokyo Game Show gathers development, publishing, and business contacts from around the world, and the association wants the Taiwanese lineup to use that foot traffic to test overseas reactions and open talks that could carry the games into new markets. The showcase joins a packed show floor, and readers can catch up on the wider event through our guide to the TGS 2026 exhibitor lineup and floor map.
Six Taiwanese indie games take the spotlight
DA2 Creative opens the lineup with Seeker Tactics, a strategy game that mixes turn based tactical combat with creature collection and extraction style play. Players explore a hand drawn science fiction world inspired by medieval East Asia, capture spirit creatures, build a team, and push into unknown territory where every trip becomes a calculation of risk and reward. Fans can wishlist the game through the official Seeker Tactics Steam page.
Safe Flight Games follows with Beastfolk Barber, a narrative game set in a modern city filled with beastfolk. Players take the role of a barber, chat with a colorful cast of customers, restyle their hair, and help each one rediscover how they want to look. The official Beastfolk Barber Steam page carries the latest details on the project.
25 Monkey Games brings The Immolation Apartment, a supernatural horror story rooted in 1990s Taiwan. A mother suffering from a terminal illness enters a mysterious temple inside an old apartment building and sacrifices the souls of her children, and ten years later her surviving son sets out through a netherworld path to save his sister. The journey leads toward the legendary Penglai Island and a soul refining furnace raised by an evil deity. Horror fans can follow development on the official The Immolation Apartment Steam page.
Let's Play a Game Studio, a team of three students from the National Taiwan University of Arts, contributes Hot Stuff, a chaotic action game about marshmallow warriors. Players grab spears and items, pierce and roast rival marshmallows, and set off chain reactions across the arena while competing for rewards and glory. The official Hot Stuff Steam page has trailers and system details.
Mugio offers a change of pace with Moments, a cozy point and click adventure about everyday life and work. Players solve diary puzzles, arrange metro stations, convenience stores, and breakfast shops into daily schedules, and collect Little Day Beasts that unlock missing diary entries and character memories. The official Moments Steam page tracks the road to release.
QPZM closes the set with Mixervivor, a music action game that fuses real time mixing with Roguelite combat. Players collect rhythmic phrases and link melodies, weapons, and effects into their own combat arrangements, so every choice reshapes both the music and the fight. The studio grew out of the creative team behind Word Game and already holds honors such as the Indie Game Award for Best Innovation and the BitSummit PlayStation Award. The six games land among many heavy hitters this year, alongside major publisher showcases such as the Capcom TGS 2026 reveals roundup.
A government backed program powers the booth
The showcase runs through the Program of Innovative Application in Digital Content Industry Development, commissioned by the Administration for Digital Industries under the Ministry of Digital Affairs. Since 2020, the related Indie Game Development Incentive and Value-Added Program has supported 56 game companies and helped 18 titles reach commercial release. The association says the funding helps small teams raise product quality and move from creative concepts to finished commercial products.
The association also points to the range on display, from horror and tactics to cozy adventure and rhythm action, as proof that local developers keep pushing into new subject matter and art styles. Recent years have seen Taiwanese teams attend more overseas exhibitions to meet players and partners directly, and this Tokyo trip continues that push.
Taiwan Game Developers Highlights 2026 debuts at the show
Visitors to the booth can also pick up Taiwan Game Developers Highlights 2026, a booklet that profiles award winning teams from the incentive program. The publication aims to raise the global profile of Taiwanese indie games and give publishers and investors a single reference for the talent coming out of the island.
Taipei Game Show 2027 courts global partners
The association will use the Tokyo trip to promote its own event as well. Taipei Game Show runs from January 21 to January 24, 2027, and its organizing team will exhibit at Booth 04-C09 in Hall 4 during Tokyo Game Show. Developers, publishers, and industry professionals are invited to stop by, learn about the 2027 show, and explore collaboration across the Asian game market.
