Red 5 Studios announced today that Firefall’s second unlocked “Beta Weekend” begins this Friday, Feb. 22. The Tribe is continuing to refine and update the game based on valuable player feedback and are inviting shooter fans to join them for another round of public testing complete with a new video contest and epic prize package. Building on Firefall’s first public test in January, Red 5 has made improvements to existing systems and added new features for players to try. The latest update included Red 5’s final Founders Reward – a Custom Thumper – as well as integrated Twitch broadcasting – allowing everyone to stream their Beta Weekend experience with the click of a button.
During the Beta Weekend, players can also look forward to a new community unlock and themed contest featuring Firefall’s unique vertical combat:
- Mid-Air Video Contest: Submit amazing aerial gameplay footage for a chance to win a Razer™ Kraken Headset, AMD Radeon™ HD 7970 (HIS IceQ X² Edition) video card and a limited edition Firefall Brontodon plushie.
- Community Unlock: All players who join the weekend stress-test will unlock a custom “mid-air” decal.
- Mid-Air Screen Contest: The top 10 mid-air screenshots will be featured on the official Firefall Facebook page.
