  • Injustice: Gods Among Us

    Injustice: Gods Among Us

If you’re tired of Street Fighter or Tekken, then it’s time to let the superheroes take care of business.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is a good fighting game about DC comics with the style from 2011’s Mortal Kombat. It offers a huge amount of different and unique characters to play with, the story is breath taking, amazing combat system, pretty decent and impressive voice cast and interesting campaign. I wasn’t much of a DC fan until I played this game and how it can easily introduce a player to the DC Universe.

    Injustice: Gods Among Us

The main focus, of course, is the story mode, where players will take the role of Super Heroes and Villains as the story progresses and engages epic showdowns. The story mode ties all the characters together to make you play as most of them and makes you feel like you’re watching a DC Animated movie. The idea of DC characters fighting other DC characters looked awesome and performed well. Even after you complete the story, you will keep coming back for more with all of the other modes offered. The multiplayer game modes are also awesome but we just felt that the character balancing is quite questionable.

    Injustice: Gods Among Us

The tutorial mode is perfect for beginners and I find this very helpful. From heavy attacks, jumps, sweeps and  blocking, if you do get stuck with your characters move lists, you can pause the game which brings up a list of moves but it would be more awesome if it can offer a demo of the specific moves so you’d know what it looked like when correctly executed (aka Tekken or Soul Calibur). Every character has a personality of their own and requires quite some time to master. The button combos are solid, power moves are fantastic. For me, it does feel somehow as same as Mortal Kombat.

    Injustice: Gods Among Us

The story progression also comes with the enemy AI progression which makes it more challenging as you progress. Injustice gives us an action packed combat and one of the notable part of the combat system is the use of the interactive environmental attacks that complements every abilities that the playable DC characters can do. The game also offers an indefinite on-battle stage changes that will certainly boost the excitement and a possible game changing situation.

    Injustice: Gods Among Us

The roster in Injustice: Gods Among Us was made up of Batman, Superman, The Joker, Lex Luthor, Green Lantern, The Flash, Nightwing, Green Arrow, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Raven, Hawkgirl, Shazam, Sinestro, Black Adam, Bane, Doomsday, Catwoman, Killer Frost, Ares, Deathstroke, Soloman Grundy and my favorite, Harley Quinn. You won’t unlock any additional characters, but you can unlock different skins for the characters that are there to mix things up. Though we might expect more playable DC characters in a possible upcoming DLCs perhaps.

    Injustice: Gods Among Us

Injustice Gods Among Us is definitely a game to look at. Even you don’t know much about DC universe, I would still recommend that you check out Injustice: Gods Among Us because it’s a very fantastic game and has a surprisingly awesome story mode. Injustice: Gods Among Us is a must buy game for a DC comic book/animation fan and a fighting game fans alike.

  • God of War: Ascension

    God of War: Ascension

God of War: Ascension is a prequel to the initial God of War series, the most anticipated properties on Sony systems and one of the most acclaimed video game franchises of all time. You play as Kratos, a Spartan soldier in ancient Greece bent on destroying each and every Greek god that gets in his way.

Six months have elapsed since he stood before the bodies of his wife and child, forced to murder them, avenge them, Kratos shattered the blood oath that bound him to Ares. Having broken a blood oath with the gods, Kratos becomes the target of the three demonic sisters known as The Furies.

    God of War Ascension

The three Fury sisters do indeed torture him with both physical pain and madness because they’re the keepers of justice and punish traitors who break their promises with the gods, but they have ulterior motives as well.

This isn’t the story about the revenge or out of controllably rage but a tale of tortured mind in search of truth. Kratos is a warrior who had suffered beyond measure from his torture to the death of his family and you could still sense his human side.

    God of War Ascension

There’s one thing that immediately obvious of God of War: Ascension, it is technically a stunning game. The opening sequence with the swooping cameras, astonishing lightning and great visual experience you’ll have in the game. Since this is a prequel, Kratos can’t fight the Titans but by the end of God of War 3, Kratos has quite literally killed nearly Greek god/titan. Santa Monica has focused on providing him with huge scale environments instead huge scale enemies.

God of War: Ascension hasn’t changed all that much since the PS2 era because it doesn’t have to. Slashing the enemies with the Blades of Chaos with different elemental powers makes you feel more powerful.  Ares gives you your standard fire, Poseidon ice, Zeus lightning and Hades, err–souls.

    God of War Ascension

This game is everything I have expected for it to be BRUTAL and SPECTACULAR. Yes, BRUTAL! There are moments that I stand up and scream like “I AM YOUR GOD! BOW BEFORE ME!” Lol. Combat is satisfying as ever, variety on the scenery, puzzles and the coloring and shading is spectacular. If you’re an action fan, you’ll love this game.

There are additional items to be discovered. For example, an amulet of Uroborus which gives hold the ability to change objects around them, decaying or healing them which forms the foundation in the puzzle or where you’re in trouble crossing the bridge.

    God of War Ascension

What it frustrated me playing this game are the difficulty spikes and puzzles. Pushing around the statues and pulling levers is as important in God of War. Problem is, sometimes the puzzles don’t feel all that well thought out. You’ll find yourself stuck searching but satisfying when you figure it out. More complex puzzles require more complex solutions and crucially these really help with the pace of the game.

Throughout the game you are reminded that all of this happens before all the other hardships, the betrayal, pain and loss, that Kratos still has to suffer. At one point I felt truly sorry for Kratos

So overall, God of War: Ascension is a great bloody game. The action is fun, the graphics is outstanding and the new multiplayer mode is surprisingly good.
