What the New Gameplay Trailer Revealed

Pawprint Studio dropped a fresh gameplay trailer during Future Games Show. It gave us our best look yet at Idyll, the game's open world, and showed off several new features coming to the Global Closed Beta. From what we've seen, Aniimo is shaping up to be a serious contender in the creature-collector space, blending exploration with deeper bonds between players and their Aniimo.

The core hook? You “twine” with your Aniimo. This means you share a link that lets you battle, move, and explore Idyll from your creature's perspective. You also get to see how Aniimo live among themselves—their daily routines, habits, and social interactions. It's a fresh take on the monster-catcher formula that we haven't seen in other games yet.

New Aniimo and Forms to Collect

The trailer introduced four new Aniimo creatures: Bubbeep, Popapus, Mophling, and Sausite. Each has its own look and likely its own elemental strengths. Players will also encounter new evolved forms, including Budsquire and Thornblade. Expect more reveals as we get closer to the beta.

Based on our experience with similar games, the variety here seems promising. Pawprint Studio is clearly leaning into both cute designs and more battle-ready forms, which should appeal to a wide range of players.

Astra Hub Gets Upgrades

The region of Astra now offers more to do. Players can visit new stores to buy accessories for their character. Developers added decorative buildings, including a blind box shop and a clothing store. These aren't just cosmetic fluff—they give Pathfinders (that's what players are called) more ways to express themselves before heading out into the wild.

Home-Building Gets Personal

Your mobile base—called an RV—now includes access to the Homeland. This is your personal space, and it received more customization options. You can decorate it with Aniimo-themed furnishings. If you love house-building mechanics like in Animal Crossing or Palia, this will likely be a big draw. We're curious to see how deep the system goes, but based on the trailer, it looks flexible enough to keep builders busy.

Explore the Island of Peace

A brand new region called the Island of Peace joins the map. As the name suggests, it's water-themed. This will be the first time players can access it during the beta. Water regions often mean swimming mechanics, aquatic Aniimo, and possibly boat travel. Pawprint Studio hasn't confirmed details yet, but we expect more info soon.

PvP Mode: Diamond Egg Heist

This is the big one. Diamond Egg Heist is a PvP mode that pits up to six teams of three Pathfinders against each other. The goal? Be the first to “twine” with a diamond egg. Once a player grabs it, the match shifts to defense mode. Their teammates must protect them and escort the egg to safety.

This adds real tension. It's not just who catches the egg first—it's who can hold it. We've tested similar modes in other games, and the escort mechanic usually leads to chaotic, memorable moments. If Pawprint Studio balances the classes and abilities right, this could become the game's most popular mode.

Co-Op Boss Battles

For PvE fans, Pathfinders can team up to fight new boss creatures called Bubbask and Coraliz. These require cooperation and strategy. From what we've seen, the boss fights involve positioning, timing, and likely some form of elemental weakness system. It's a smart way to encourage team play without forcing competitive stress.

Arknights: Endfield

Aniimo Trading Goes Live

Players can finally exchange Aniimo with each other. This is a massive feature for any creature collector. Trading lets you complete your collection without grinding for specific spawns. It also builds community. Expect trading hubs to form across social platforms once the beta launches.

How to Join the Global Closed Beta

Signups are open now at aniimo.com. The beta runs this summer on PC (Steam), iOS, and Android. It's free to register, but spots are limited. We recommend signing up early to improve your chances of getting in.

The developers plan to test all new features during this phase. That includes Diamond Egg Heist, co-op bosses, home-building, and the Island of Peace. If you want to shape the final game before its 2026 launch, this is your chance.

How Aniimo Compares to Other Creature Collectors

Aniimo enters a crowded space. Pokémon dominates, but Temtem, Palworld, and Palia each carved out their own niches. What sets Aniimo apart? The twining mechanic is unique. No other game lets you bond so closely with a creature that you see the world through its eyes. Add in the deep social sim elements (Aniimo society, home-building) and the free-to-play model, and Aniimo looks positioned to attract both casual explorers and competitive battlers.

It's not trying to beat Pokémon at its own game. Instead, it offers something different: a living, breathing world where your creature isn't just a battle tool—it's a companion with its own life.
