Release date and what Their Secret Histories adds

HoYoverse announced the date through the official Version 3.2 reveal and program, confirming a September 9 start for the new main story and banner cycle. The patch follows the usual two phase structure for Zenless Zone Zero updates, with one featured S Rank agent per half and returning S Rank reruns paired with their Exclusive W Engines. According to the official Zenless Zone Zero site, the update will be available across console, PC and mobile at the same time, which keeps cross progression intact for Proxies who play on more than one device.

Players who log in during the version period receive 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons in total, and additional rewards come from the seasonal event track. The stage for the story is the Shrouded Reef special zone Vyrium, where the main crew pursues treatment for a mutated power and uncovers a wider conflict.

Flint Workshop duo Claret and Roxy lead the banners

Claret, head of the Flint family and Administrative Director of Flint Workshop, headlines the first half as the debut Armorer. She is an S Rank Electric Agent who builds Gash on enemies and converts it into Maim triggers for extra damage and a Laceration damage boost. Roxy, chief smith of the workshop, arrives in the second half as an S Rank Wind Stun Agent centered on Eyes of the Storm tornado mechanics, with an Ultimate that summons multiple tornadoes for large area damage. Both agents receive their own Signal Search channels in their respective halves, so players can target one at a time without splitting pulls between the two.

Reruns bookend the new arrivals. HoYoverse confirmed S Rank Agent Nangong Yu returns in the first half and S Rank Agent Promeia returns in the second half, each with their Exclusive W Engines also available. That lineup gives returning players a second chance at two established S Rank kits while new players can fill out Flint Workshop synergy from day one.

How the new Armorer specialty works

Armorer is built around balancing offense and defense and introduces two linked mechanics, Maim and multi CRIT. Claret demonstrates the template. Her attacks stack Gash until the target is afflicted, then specific skills trigger Maim for added damage and a Laceration boost. All of her skills scale from DEF, which changes the usual ATK focused build path. When her CRIT Rate passes 100 percent, the excess converts into multi CRIT that uses Laceration damage instead of standard CRIT damage, and a portion of her starting CRIT DMG converts into starting CRIT Rate at a set ratio. DEF, CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG therefore drive her build rather than raw ATK.

Armorer also brings a defensive utility. The specialty can trigger Counter Assist to contest certain enemy Control Skills and push back, which adds a reactive option for teams that want to hold ground instead of dodging every crowd control attempt. The HoYoverse team paired the kit with new Tactical Prisms and general Armorer Gears, plus Hollow Zero Gears for Claret and Roxy so the specialty has immediate endgame support.

Story setup in Vyrium and the Shrouded Reef

The Version 3.2 main story sends the Proxies to Vyrium for further treatment of the mutated power inside them, only to learn that Roscaelifer has been quietly infiltrated by TOPS. A separate thread follows a missing shipment of Porcelloy from Flint Workshop that disappears at a transfer station. Claret and Roxy take charge of the investigation and pull the Proxies into the case, which leads to a covert research facility with ties to Helios Academy. Airspace Patrol Department Administrative Director Lindverne Sunbringer later commissions Claret to trace Porcelloy leads in the remnants of Girtablullu. The chapter frames an old classmate, a long absent friend, and secrets Sunbringer has kept buried, with the night sky of Vyrium as the backdrop. For players tracking the wider HoYoverse roadmap, the studio also recently detailed Architect Land of Exiles” as a separate co op action game, but the Vyrium story stays tightly focused on Flint Workshop and the Porcelloy mystery.

Events, free outfits and season updates

Producer Zhenyu shared a handwritten letter noting that Version 3.2 and 3.3 events will allow free access to the Angels of Delusion faction series outfits. The 14 day check in event Surprise Screening Plan lets Proxies pick one Angels of Delusion outfit after completing daily check ins, while the limited time event Clink Clank Pinball Knight invites players to craft a pinball machine with Kahkiboo and an additional outfit can be claimed on the Angels Support Operation page after clearing Challenge Mode.

Three more events round out the calendar. Diary of an Orbie Parent focuses on virtual pet raising, Chronicles of the Hobbling Crow adds a Booastrum detective story, and Shadow Chase Showdown brings HIA virtual combat, with Polychromes and Tuning Calibrators among the rewards. Enigma of the Labyrinth Operation Bagel receives a standard season update for Version 3.2, with new Z Rank valuables, character Gear, advanced challenges, server wide rankings, resets, and season limited inventory and Proxy accessories in the store. Claret and Roxy also bring a new item, Break Even Beacon, which summons a Bangboo to carry away supplies early so failed extractions still count a portion of gathered supplies.

Arknights: Endfield

System changes and beginner support

System updates touch new players and veterans alike. The Beginner Guide adds Agents Jane, Hugo and Soldier 0 Anby, with a self select perk carrying over for players who skipped it in Version 3.1 and a corresponding Exclusive W Engine choice after completing Phase 2 missions. Agent Koleda receives enhancements, and the Perfect Assist trigger is clarified so golden flashes trigger Defensive Assist and red flashes trigger Evasive Assist consistently. A new Armorer exclusive VR Training stage arrives in the VR Training Room, and City Fund Benefits adds the W Engine Bloodmarrow Coffer for future exchange with the Great Builder Certificate. These changes land alongside the usual quality of life tuning that accompanies a version update, aimed at smoothing early progression while giving late game players new mastery goals.
