Montreal-based Behaviour Interactive has revealed a slew of details about upcoming Dead by Daylight crossovers, spin-offs, and a new game mode. In a special 8th-anniversary stream, Canada’s largest independent developer offered a deep dive into what’s next for the massively popular multiplayer survival horror game.

First up is the introduction of a 2v8 mode, set to arrive by the end of summer. This highly requested mode will pit two Killers against eight Survivors, shaking up the traditional gameplay. The mode will feature class-based Killers with unique team-based powers, such as the Wraith’s ability to cloak both himself and his ally. Initially, five original Dead by Daylight Killers will be included in this mode, with plans to add all Killers in the future.

Next on the agenda is an exciting Dungeons & Dragons crossover, bringing dark fantasy elements to the world of Dead by Daylight for the first time. In collaboration with Wizards of the Coast, iconic D&D villain Vecna, voiced by Critical Role’s Matthew Mercer, will join the game as a new Killer. Vecna will possess four unique spells, including flight, skeletal projectiles, and a spectral hand to manipulate pallets. Additionally, Survivors will have the opportunity to find special chests in the map that grant them magical abilities, with outcomes determined by rolling a 20-sided die. This crossover is set to launch on June 3rd and will introduce a new D&D themed map and Survivor options.

In a surprise move, Behaviour has released “What the Fog,” a new PC two-person co-op roguelite set in the Dead by Daylight universe. Players will find themselves in a cursed board game scenario, taking on cartoonish versions of Claudette and Dwight as they battle through real-time combat to repair generators and escape.

Behaviour also shared glimpses of two upcoming Dead by Daylight spin-offs: The Casting of Frank Stone, a choose-your-own-adventure game, and Project T, a PvE action shooter developed by Behaviour subsidiary Midwinter.

Lastly, Behaviour teased a forthcoming crossover with Konami’s legendary Castlevania series. While details remain scarce, fans can expect more information on August 6th regarding this exciting partnership.

Dead by Daylight is available on various platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and PC. Stay tuned for more thrilling updates and crossovers from Behaviour Interactive as they continue to expand the world of Dead by Daylight.
