Bell recently made changes to its wireless plans by reducing the data allotment on its Essential and Ultimate plans from 200GB to 150GB. Despite this decrease in data, the prices for both plans remained the same.

The Essential and Ultimate plans now offer 150GB of data at Bell's fastest available 5G+ speeds. In addition, both plans include unlimited data that is throttled to 512Kbps once the data cap is reached. The Essential plan is priced at $90 per month, but there is currently a $10/mo credit for 24 months available, bringing the cost down to $80. On the other hand, the Ultimate plan costs $110 per month.

One of the main differences between the two plans is that the Essential plan only includes Canada-wide calling and texting, while the Ultimate plan offers calling, texting, and data use in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. This makes the Ultimate plan a better option for frequent travellers who need connectivity across multiple countries.

Additionally, the Essential plan caps video streaming at 480p, whereas the Ultimate plan allows for streaming at 1080p. Customers who are on the Essential plan can opt for a $5/mo add-on to upgrade their video streaming quality to 1080p.

It seems that Bell followed the lead of Rogers and Telus in increasing its plans to 200GB earlier in May. However, as of now, Telus and Rogers still offer 200GB plans while Bell has reduced its data bucket to 150GB.

Overall, Bell's Essential and Ultimate plans continue to provide customers with reliable connectivity and data options, catering to different needs and preferences.
