Bell’s Virgin Plus added a $39/40GB 4G plan on May 31st, making waves in the Canadian mobile market. However, just a few days later, the plan has been removed without much explanation.
As of June 5th, Virgin’s website no longer features the $39/40GB plan. The $39/20GB 4G plan is still available, but the $5/mo credit that previously lowered the price to $34 has also been removed.
This sudden change comes as a surprise to many customers who were considering switching to or upgrading their plans with Virgin. At the time of publication, competitors like Fido and Koodo are still offering similar plans, with Fido even adding a $39/40GB option in response to Virgin’s initial offer.
It remains unclear why Virgin decided to pull the popular $39/40GB plan so soon after introducing it. Customers who were interested in this affordable and high-data option may now need to look elsewhere for a similar deal.
For those still interested in Virgin’s offerings, the remaining plans can be viewed on their website. It will be interesting to see how this move affects Virgin’s standing in the competitive Canadian telecom industry.
