What the Infinite Blue figure is

The Infinite Blue is a glazed porcelain statue of Sonic the Hedgehog captured mid run with fists forward above a vermillion infinity loop trail. The blue sections carry traditional Japanese wave and lattice style patterns while the face arms and belly stay glossy white, and the key visual carries 35th Anniversary branding alongside the SEGA copyright mark. The figure mounts on a black round display stand through a central support post, which gives the running pose a floating look. Full product details and photos are listed on the official Infinite Blue product page, which also confirms the edition numbering and the included wooden presentation box.

The piece belongs to the Arita ware tradition, which is porcelain made in and around the town of Arita in Saga Prefecture with a craft history stretching back about 400 years. Pairing that heritage with a game mascot puts the figure in the same lane as high end character statues aimed at adult collectors rather than toy shelves. That positioning also explains the price point, since each piece is produced as a numbered art object with a certificate instead of a mass market run.

First round lottery dates and how to enter

The first entry round runs from October 9 2026 at 10 AM to October 18 2026 at 11:59 PM Japan Standard Time. Entrants submit through the official Sonic Infinite Blue lottery entry page, and a thank you screen confirms that the entry went through. A confirmation email follows for each entrant in turn, so applicants are asked to allow some time before it arrives.

Results go out by email sequentially from late October 2026 onward in Japan time. Selected entrants must complete their purchase within 7 days of notification, with the exact deadline stated in the notification email. Anyone not selected in the first round is entered in the second round drawing automatically, with timing for that round to be announced separately.

Price edition size and box contents

The figure is priced at USD 7000 before duties taxes and shipping, and the edition is capped at 50 pieces worldwide with individual numbering. Each set includes the porcelain figure plus a certificate of authenticity plus a display stand plus a wooden storage box. The dimensions of 15.6 cm wide by 22.8 cm deep by 21.3 cm tall make it a shelf scale display piece rather than a life size statue, which suits collectors who want a statement item without dedicating a full cabinet to it.

At 50 pieces the run is small even by limited statue standards, so the lottery system is doing real work here by rationing access instead of rewarding whoever checks out fastest. Collectors should treat the 7 day purchase deadline seriously, since a missed notification email could mean losing a reserved piece with no recourse.

Shipping regions and delivery schedule

Shipping covers Japan plus South Korea Taiwan Hong Kong Singapore Australia the United States Canada the United Kingdom EU member states including France Germany and the Netherlands plus Switzerland and Norway. Buyers outside those regions are asked to contact the maker in advance to discuss delivery options. Because every piece is made to order, shipping happens sequentially after the order period closes and can take up to approximately 10 months.

The long lead time is normal for handmade porcelain at this scale, where firing glazing and hand finishing cannot be rushed without risking defects. Buyers should therefore treat this as a 2027 delivery and plan their display space and budget around that horizon instead of expecting a holiday season arrival.

Why this release matters for Sonic collectors

Sonic collectibles span every tier from prize figures to gallery statues, yet few cross into traditional Japanese craft media. A porcelain Sonic with hand applied style patterning stands apart from resin and PVC releases because the material and the kiln process make each firing slightly unique. For franchise collectors the 50 piece cap plus numbered certificates plus wooden box packaging check every box that long term value hunters look for in a centerpiece item.

The anniversary branding on the key visual adds to that appeal, since milestone year releases tend to anchor Sonic collections the way anniversary consoles anchor hardware shelves. Whether buyers see it as art or as a grail statue, the combination of tiny supply plus lottery distribution plus craft provenance gives this release a profile that standard licensed figures rarely match.
