Samsung is gearing up for its Summer Unpacked event, set to take place in less than a month. The highly anticipated event will see the unveiling of several new devices, including the Galaxy Watch 7 series, the Galaxy Ring, and the highlight of the show, the Galaxy Flip 6 and Fold 6. While leaks and rumors about these devices are already circulating, there’s now talk about a slimmer and sleeker version of the Z Fold 6 on the horizon.
According to recent leaks, the Z Fold 6 successor, tentatively named the Samsung W25 in China, is said to be lighter, thinner, and larger than its predecessor. This new foldable is expected to feature a more modern design with a squared, boxy shape and sharper corners. However, it may not support the S Pen, a popular feature in Samsung’s Fold series. The device is also rumored to come with a Titanium frame, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
While the Z Fold 5’s thickness was a common complaint among users, the reported slim design of the Fold 6 successor aims to address this issue. The device is expected to be released in China in October under the name W25. It is likely to also launch in South Korea, given Samsung’s headquarters are located there. However, it remains to be seen whether the slim Z Fold 6 will be available outside of China and Korea.
If these leaks are accurate, there is a possibility that Samsung might tease the slim Z Fold 6 at the upcoming Unpacked event on July 10. With a focus on a thinner and lighter design, this new foldable could offer a more ergonomic and portable option for users. Time will tell whether Samsung plans to release the device globally or keep it exclusive to select markets like China and Korea.
