Samsung is gearing up for its Summer Unpacked event, set to take place in less than a month. The event is expected to showcase a range of new devices, including the Galaxy Watch 7 series, Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Flip 6, and Fold 6. Among the rumored releases is a slimmer version of the Fold 6, unofficially dubbed the Z Fold 6 Slim.
Recent leaks have indicated that the Z Fold 6 Slim will feature a more modern design with a squared, boxy shape, sharper corners, and a wider Cover Screen. This newer model is said to be lighter, thinner, and larger than its predecessor, the Fold 6. However, it may not support the S Pen feature, which has been a trademark of Samsung’s foldable devices. Additionally, the Z Fold 6 Slim is rumored to come with a Titanium frame, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
According to reliable leaker Ice Universe, the slim variant of the Fold 6 may be named Samsung W25 in China and is expected to be released in October. While a launch in South Korea seems likely given Samsung’s home base, it remains unclear if the Z Fold 6 Slim will be available in other markets, including Canada. The potential exclusion of the S Pen feature could be a determining factor in its international release.
If the leaks are accurate, there is a possibility that Samsung may offer a sneak peek of the Z Fold 6 Slim at the upcoming Unpacked event on July 10. However, the decision to release the device outside of China and Korea is still up in the air. Only time will tell if this slimmer foldable will make its way to other regions, providing users with a more compact and stylish option in the foldable smartphone market.
