Telus-owned Koodo has recently introduced a new 60GB 4G plan priced at $54 per month to compete with similar offers from Fido and Virgin in Canada. While this move aligns Koodo with its competitors in terms of data allocation, the plan falls slightly short in terms of pricing, as Fido and Virgin offer their 60GB plans for $49 per month.

Prior to this announcement, Koodo did not offer a 60GB 4G plan, with the highest data option being a $44 per month plan for 50GB. However, as of June 17th, Koodo listed a $54 per month plan with 60GB of data, unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting, and one free perk. It's worth noting that at the time of publication, there was a discrepancy on Koodo's website where the 60GB plan was not available for customers purchasing a phone.

Fido's 60GB plan is usually priced at $59 per month but can be lowered to $49 through autopay discounts and credits. Similarly, Virgin offers their 60GB plan for $49 per month, although the price has fluctuated recently. Despite these adjustments, Koodo's $54 plan remains a bit more expensive compared to its competitors.

While Koodo's new plan aims to stay competitive in the market, other providers like Freedom and Public offer even more affordable options. For example, both Freedom and Public have $40 per month plans for 75GB of data with 5G capabilities and Canada/U.S. usage.

In conclusion, while Koodo's new 60GB 4G plan is a step in the right direction to keep up with Fido and Virgin, it may not be the most cost-effective option available to consumers in Canada.
