Fido has recently introduced a new 30GB 4G plan with a 10GB monthly data bonus, ultimately offering customers 40GB of data for 24 months. This new plan is priced at $44 per month but drops down to $39 per month for those who opt for autopay. With this added data bonus, Fido's plan now competes with similar offerings from Koodo and Virgin Plus in Canada.
Notably, Koodo and Virgin Plus do not have a 24-month limit on their 40GB plans, setting them apart from Fido's offering. In terms of data speed, Fido caps it at 150Mbps, and the plan also includes unlimited Canada-wide calling, international texting from Canada, call display, basic voicemail service, and other features.
While Fido's $39/40GB plan is competitive, there are other options with better value in the market. Public Mobile and Freedom Mobile, for example, continue to offer $34/50GB 5G plans with extended Canada/U.S. usage. Customers looking for a budget-friendly yet feature-packed plan may want to explore all available options before making a decision.
