Exciting News: Nintendo Direct Focused on Kirby Air Riders
Mark your calendars! A special Nintendo Direct presentation dedicated to Kirby Air Riders is set for Tuesday, August 19, at 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT.
This livestream will run for about 45 minutes and can be viewed on Nintendo's YouTube and Twitch channels. Fans can expect an in-depth look at the upcoming racing game for the Nintendo Switch 2, featuring insights from director Masahiro Sakurai. This marks Sakurai's first project since he worked on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which was released back in 2018.

A First Look at Gameplay?
This presentation is particularly thrilling because we have yet to see any actual gameplay footage from Air Riders. The game was initially revealed through a short cinematic trailer during the major Switch 2 Direct event in April, but there has been little information since then.
The Legacy of Kirby Air Ride
Kirby Air Riders serves as a sequel to the beloved classic Kirby Air Ride, which debuted on GameCube in 2003. That title marked Sakurai's last direct involvement with a Kirby game before he shifted his focus to directing several entries in the Smash Bros. series and also working on titles like Kid Icarus: Uprising.. Given this history, fans are eager to see what innovative ideas this legendary creator has brought forth this time around.
A Glimpse into Future Releases

Airing during this Direct could also reveal more about its release date as it is scheduled for launch sometime in 2025. This announcement would help clarify what first-party titles are coming out for Switch users later this year.
