Bell’s Virgin Plus has made some notable changes to its 4G plans, introducing a new 40GB plan and reducing the price of its existing 20GB plan. The updated offerings aim to provide customers with more data at competitive prices.
The latest addition to Virgin’s lineup is the $39/40GB 4G plan, which presents users with a substantial amount of data for their mobile needs. Additionally, the provider continues to offer a $39/20GB 4G plan. However, it now includes a $5 monthly credit for 24 months, effectively lowering the price to $34.
Both plans come with 4G data speeds capped at 150Mbps, video streaming quality limited to 480p, and unlimited Canada-wide calling and international texting sent from within Canada. While it may seem odd to have two plans at the same price point but with varying data allowances, this move aligns Virgin with competitors like Fido and Koodo, who also offer $34/20GB 4G plans.
Despite the price reduction for the 20GB plan, some may find better value elsewhere. Freedom and Public are highlighted as alternatives, offering 50GB of 5G data for the same price as Virgin's 20GB plan, along with Canada-U.S. usage included.
Virgin’s other plans remain unchanged, including options like $44/50GB, $50/60GB 4G plans, and a $65/75GB 5G plan. Customers can explore all of Virgin’s plans on their website.
Overall, the adjustments to Virgin’s 4G plans aim to cater to varying data needs while staying competitive in the market. With the introduction of the new 40GB plan and the discounted 20GB plan, customers have more options to find a plan that suits their usage requirements.
